In 1994, after receiving the LORD JESUS Christ as my Savior, the Father instructed me to shut down Association for the Economic Advancement of our New York Women Inc (AEA/NYW) and to turn my focus to evangelizing the Gospel message while building lives. On March 23, 2000, Tell The World Ministries Inc (TTWM) was established as a non-profit corporation with the State of New York. We are a small ministry, doing a lot of good. TTWM's mission is 2-fold. We spread the Gospel message of JESUS Christ, through teachings and through Love-in-Action. We reach out to government and community, to meet the unmet needs of people - providing information, resources, and advocating for GOD's beautiful children to receive the basic essentials of safe and affordable housing, as a first step to establishing stability and positioning for educational development and financial growth.
When a constituent calls Tell The World Ministries (TTWM) for assistance, they never hear: We don't do this or we don't do that. We listen to the constituent as he or she states what they need. And if we cannot offer direct assistance, we provide the constituent with a list of resources, thoroughly explaining each resource as well as steps to accessing needed services. TTWM encourages and teaches constituents how to advocate for themselves and their community. And we often follow-up with the constituent - to make sure each need was met. If a constituent is denied services or benefits they qualify for and are eligible to receive, we advocate on behalf of the constituent! As part of our advocacy services, we may submit a report of discrimination or non-compliance to a local, state or federal agency.
A large part of our ministry's work is: rehousing the homeless, preventing evictions, and connecting individuals and families with support services for successful living in their community. Part of helping rehouse the homeless also involves registering constituents with housing counseling, financial literacy, and credit repair programs. For constituents who want to take the step toward homeownership, we assist with the application process for USDA's zero down payment loan program for low and very low-income homebuyers and explore other First-Time homebuyers programs offering down payment assistance.
TTWM is also an approved Referral Agent for the HUD-811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) program, which provides subsidized housing to people with disabilities who need support services. We also assist constituents with getting their names on public housing waiting lists, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting lists, assist with steps to applying for an Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV), assist constituents with a mental illness or developmental disability with applying for the Georgia Housing Voucher (GHV) and connect to other HUD subsidized and state run housing programs. We mediate between landlord and tenant for outcomes that will resolve the concerns of both parties and hopefully prevent an eviction.
TTWM does all that is possible - to help GOD's children who are struggling with various hardships. We assure our constituents that they are not alone. We equip each constituent with resources that will empower them in their journey. And when ready, we -together, draft an individualized Plan for Achieving Stability and Financial Growth (PAS-FG).
