We believe housing is a human right; that every person deserves to live in housing that is safe, clean, and affordable. Our goal is to assist individuals and families with low-income, sporadic income, or zero income - receive housing subsidies that will aid in achieving housing stability. Without housing -without a place to lay your head, to shower, to put your stuff- you will encounter great difficulty in searching for or maintaining employment, pursuing an education, cooking nutritional meals, or ultimately working toward becoming a homeowner. Homeless children 10 and under, homeless persons with a chronic physical illness, mental health or cognitive disorder, homeless persons diagnosed with a terminal illness or diagnosed with an illness requiring daily use of electronic equipment or medication needing refrigeration, and homeless pregnant women - face greater risks of deteriorated health and even homeless-induced death. So, housing stability becomes a matter of public health and is of utmost importance for homeless persons to be housed.
